Whenever I smell petrichor
I remember the odor
that lingers in my anime-themed sandos
I used after a day of playing hide-and-seek
in our neighborhood
The search would halt by the rain
There were no complaints
as cheese bread and orange-flavored soft drink
await at home
When the sun shows its might again,
we wear our detective hats anew
Whenever I smell petrichor
I wish life were as easy as before
Now, we hide our pains
We seek relief
Adulting is a game that we are tired of playing
I am thankful for the rain as it mutes the noise
of the metropolis I built in my mind
