Television network giant GMA-7 has an explosive treat for its viewers in 2020. Last December 23, a video showing the logo of the adored anime show, Voltes V was uploaded on the official Facebook page of the TV station. Other details included in video are the date 12.31.19 and GMA New Year Countdown. The post has #V5Teaser. This is a clear answer that the network has a plan of having live- action adaptation next year. The said Facebook post abuzz in the online world.
Things are getting clearer as Encantadia director Mark Reyes posted his yuletide greetings on Instagram using a picture of Voltes V. This is a hint that the show will be under his helm. The cast is yet to be announced, but there are news circulating online few months ago that Ruru Madrid, Kyline Alcantara and Mikee Quintos might reprise roles. The answer who will be the actors might be answered tonight during the countdown.
I am sure many are excited to watch the Philippine adaptation of the anime series which was first televised in the country in the late 1970s. It will be nostalgic.
