How to Get Community Tax Certificate or Cedula?

One part of adulting life is dealing with taxes. When I woke up this morning, my father told me that he will get his cedula in the town hall today. The statement is like a warm, black coffee that waken up my senses. I prepared myself even I struggle to take a bath in this cold weather. I really need to get one as it is needed in my job.

What is community tax certificate (CTC)?

CTC locally known as cedula is a legal form issued to individuals aged 18 years old and above working for at least 30 consecutive days or who has a business or who has a real property/properties. The town or city government units and barangay have the power to issue this paper beginning January 2 every year.

Why one should have it?

The said certificate is needed when you file an income tax return or applying for government- issued identification cards such as Postal ID.

I need to get my cedula because I need to use the number for my Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN).

How to have your certificate?

  1. Go to city/municipal or barangay hall.
  2. Proceed to the window/ section where CTC is released.
  3. Get an application slip and write the following information.
  • Name
  • Home Address
  • Birthdate
  • Height
  • Weight
  • For civil status, tick your answer
  • Occupation
4. Submit the slip and wait for the computation of the personnel in- charge.
5. Pay the required amount.
6. Affix your signature and make a right thumb print on the spaces provided.

You now have your cedula. Secure it well.

In my case, I am teacher with a salary grade 12, step 1, I paid Php 280.00.
